About Jailyn Avila
Jailyn Avila was born in Southern California into an immigrant, military-conservative family. After leaving that house and getting married, she slowly realized her true self. After completing medical school and an emergency medicine residency, she transitioned and settled back in San Diego with her wife and three kids.

Present
National and International lecturer on transgender care and related topics, emergency medicine and bedside ultrasound. I also work full-time as an emergency physician (which I have done since 2012)

Legally transitioned from male to female
2012-2021
Worked as an academic emergency physician and multiple level 1 trauma hospitals. Began creating educational content that eventually became Core Ultrasound.
2008-2015
Completed medical school and an emergency medicine residency
